GERMANY, Biberach/Riss. The Handtmann Group says it has taken over mechanical engineering and trading partner Verbufa on 1 April 2021.

Verbufa is an internationally active company based in Amersfoort in the Netherlands. The company was founded in 1952 and employs around 40 people. Verbufa develops, supplies and implements machine solutions for the food processing industry and, as a trading company, sells machines and systems from market-leading machine manufacturers in the food processing industry. Verbufa has been an exclusive Handtmann sales partner in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg for more than 55 years.

Handtmann Maschinenfabrik from Biberach/Riss develops and produces filling and portioning technology as well as digital solutions for food production. "The integration of Verbufa into our corporate group is an important strategic building block for even stronger positioning in international competition," Thomas Handtmann, Managing Partner of the family-owned company, said in a press release. Harald Suchanka, Chief Executive Officer of the Filling and Portioning Systems Division, emphasises: "After the acquisition of Inotec last year, we are taking the next consistent step to be able to offer our customers holistic solutions.”

Moulding, dosing and coextrusion solutions

In addition to direct market development in the top sales markets of the Netherlands and Belgium, the merger of the two companies generates above all a high level of innovation for solutions in the areas of moulding, coextrusion and process automation. Mark Marrink, the previous owner of Verbufa, will exercise operational management of the new Handtmann subsidiary.
