GERMANY, Biberach/Riss. The Handtmann Group says it has taken over mechanical engineering and trading partner Verbufa on 1 April 2021.
Handtmann Maschinenfabrik from Biberach/Riss develops and produces filling and portioning technology as well as digital solutions for food production. "The integration of Verbufa into our corporate group is an important strategic building block for even stronger positioning in international competition," Thomas Handtmann, Managing Partner of the family-owned company, said in a press release. Harald Suchanka, Chief Executive Officer of the Filling and Portioning Systems Division, emphasises: "After the acquisition of Inotec last year, we are taking the next consistent step to be able to offer our customers holistic solutions.”
In addition to direct market development in the top sales markets of the Netherlands and Belgium, the merger of the two companies generates above all a high level of innovation for solutions in the areas of moulding, coextrusion and process automation. Mark Marrink, the previous owner of Verbufa, will exercise operational management of the new Handtmann subsidiary.
