GERMANY, Berlin. The Central Association of the German Poultry Industry is reorganizing. On February 1, 2022, there will be a change in the management level.
Bernhard Schleicher will take over responsibility for the joint office of the Central Association of the German Poultry Industry (ZDG - Zentralverband der Deutschen Geflügelwirtschaft e.V.) in Berlin as managing director. Schleicher succeeds Dr. Thomas Janning, who will leave the ZDG "at his own request," the association announced. Most recently, in was managing director at agricultural equipment dealer Claas Northeast Bavaria and before that at the agricultural group Baywa AG and milking technology manufacturer Lely. He has built up a comprehensive national and international network in this context, according to the ZDG.
In accordance with the statutes, he is taking over the management of the five affiliated federal associations of chicken, turkey and goose producers as well as the egg industry and slaughter and processing companies in a personal union. In addition, Schleicher is responsible for the business of the affiliated companies. The 55-year-old Schleicher comes from Regelsbach in Bavaria, where he runs a part-time agricultural business with his family.
