USA, Kansas City. After a construction period of around one year, the German-based company Multivac put a new logistics center in Kansas City, Missouri, into operation in spring 2021.
In particular, the higher requirements for spare parts logistics and material supply for production have made the expansion and automation necessary. This investment has set the course for further growth for Multivac in the region.
The new 3100 square meter logistics center includes a state-of-the-art automated small parts warehouse, a pallet warehouse, a warehouse for medium-sized materials for storage without pallets, and a mobile cantilever rack for storing machines on three levels. In addition, 50 new office workstations were created.
A dedicated access road for freight inbound and outbound enables safe operations. Thanks to additional cargo docks, higher output can be handled if needed. In addition, 100 more parking spaces have been created to accommodate the increasing demand for personnel.
The company currently employs more than 250 people at the main location. Further sales bases are located in Tustin (California), Whippany (New Jersey) and Charlotte, North Carolina.
