DENMARK, Copenhagen. There will be a woman at the helm of the Danish Professional Association of Agriculture & Food as of August 1, 2022.
From the summer, Merete Juhl will take over as CEO of the Danish trade association, which covers a number of related industries in addition to agriculture & food. Juhl is currently Denmark's ambassador to Jordan and Lebanon and chargé d'affaires to Syria.
Søren Søndergaard, Chairman of the Danish Agriculture & Food Trade Association (Landbrug & Fødevarer,
L&F), is already looking forward to the new boss: "Merete Juhl has the international experience and perspective that we need as a small producing country of globally distributed food products with global cooperation partners. With her strong personal skills, she masters navigation in complex, often politically driven waters. As an experienced and results-oriented leader, she values teamwork. Thanks to her earthy childhood and youth, she understands the importance of thinking from the farmer to the store counter."
With an export volume of DKK 166 billion (about 22 billion euros), the Danish agri-food industry accounts for about a quarter (25 percent) of total Danish goods exports.
