GERMANY, Cologne. The international supplier fair for the food and beverage industry Anuga FoodTec plays a central role in the industry, covering all processing steps from raw materials to the finished product.

This year's fair presents itself as a "special edition": a compact in-person event combined with the digital platform Anuga FoodTec@home.

The structure has been revised in order to present services and solutions along the entire value chain and consists of the following areas:

  • Intralogistics
  • Safety & Analytics
  • Environment & Energy
  • Science & Pioneering

2022's hot topics

The new areas "Intralogistics", "Automation", "Digitalisation", "Energy & Environment" and "Science & Pioneering" reflect the current key topics of the food and beverage industry.

Intralogistics deals with the internal flow of materials, including conveyors, large containers, storage systems and industrial trucks. Adjacent topics such as warehousing and facility management will also be located in this area.

Automation and Digitalisation are closely related. Switching processes from manual to automatic operations is an important challenge in the food and beverage manufacturing process.

The area Environment & Energy focuses on resource efficiency and the environmental impact of production,  core fields in the production process of food and beverages. Energy and water use, waste management and reprocessing are crucial to cost and resource control. The area offers showcases solutions and services at various levels across all process stages.

Science & Pioneering focuses on future solutions. Leading experts will present innovations ready for the market in the next five to ten years and will paint a picture of where the industry is heading. In addition to start-ups and innovative companies, research institutes and universities will share their findings on future challenges.

Networking opportunities

Besides meeting in person, the fair also offers additional opportunities for personal exchange with its digital platform Anuga FoodTec@home. While exhibitors have the chance to present their company through digital presentations, visitors will have access to numerous contents and data offered by the trade fair.

Attendance of the live events on the main and innovation stages will be available through a streaming service and on-demand with the platform. On the main stage, events concerning the "Smart Solutions – Higher Flexibility" topic will be presented; with a strong focus on trend topics including sustainability and alternative proteins. Furthermore, Anuga FoodTec has put together a series of compact conferences under the motto "Food4Future@AnugaFoodTec22" in cooperation with NXFood. The conference series will also be available digitally.
