BELGIUM, Brussels. "In 2017, Anuga once again proved that it is an excellent communication and order platform for the international meat industry," conclude the 25 Belgian meat suppliers, who presented themselves at the 276 m2 joint Belgian Meat Office stand in Hall 6.
They all look back on an extremely successful trade fair participation.
Sixty percent of the visitors to the Belgian pavilion came from Asia, above all China. Belgian slaughter by-products continue to attract great interest there, and there is also a growing demand for cuts.
The percentage of European trade visitors is estimated at 40%. The Polish companies in particular stood out here, with the Belgian pork halves playing an increasingly prominent role on their order list. Over the years, Poland has become the second most important trading partner of the Belgians. Neighbouring Germany continues to occupy the top position on the Belgian customer list.
In addition to maintaining existing business contacts, numerous new customers were acquired. The Belgian meat suppliers are in unison of the opinion that the journey to Cologne this year was particularly worthwhile.
