SPAIN, Madrid. Spanish exports of pigs to Vietnam grew by 53.7% in 2018, with a total of 13,004 t representing a turnover of € 11.2 mill., 34% more than the previous year, according to the latest data from Datacomex prepared by Interprofesional del Porcino de Capa Blanca (Interporc).
The Vietnamese pork market is of great relevance worldwide, as it is the fifth largest market in global consumption, and the fifth Asian market in per capita consumption behind China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.
In this sense, the organization includes various promotional activities in this country to support Spanish meat and white pork companies. Precisely in these days and on the occasion of the fair Food & Hotel Vietnam, it has organized a tour to visit Vietnamese importers and local supermarkets interested in importing pork products.
This activity aims to establish B2B meetings, as well as visit buyers' companies to maximize opportunities for participating companies to meet with local buyers and better understand their business activities.
The Vietnamese pork market is presented as a quite interesting market for Spanish products, due to the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between the EU and Vietnam, as well as the growing trend of consumption of this type of meat in the market, which is expected to have an increase rate of more than 6% per year.
