Trade CLITRAVI expresses concerns

The recent increase of the Chinese imports from Europe led to an increase of prices of more than 25% compared to the price of the first week of the year.The European meat processing industry consists of some 13,000 companies and employs some 350,000 people who manufacture around 13,5 Mio t of meat products and represent a turnover of € 80 bn.
The aim of the joint letter, however, is not to point out solutions, but to draw attention to the situation in general, and they think it is important that the entire supply chain understands the challenges of this exceptional, yet ongoing, market situation which potentially threatens businesses, jobs and livelihoods across the European industry.
