Plukon Food Group and the Polish Wyrebski family received approval from the competition authority regarding this transaction. The deal was officially closed last week.

The family Wyrebski is producing high quality fresh and frozen poultry products for the food service, retail and food industry under its own brand and under private label. Its main markets are Poland and north-western Europe.

With the closing of the deal Plukon Food Group gets a majority interest in Wyrebski‘s new slaughterhouse project. The transaction enables Plukon Food Group to enter the Polish market and will expand Plukon’s position going forward in Europe.

Peter Poortinga, CEO of Plukon Food Group, commented: “With this transaction Plukon Food Group is able to continue to grow in Europe and create a fifth production country in Europe. I am pleased that Plukon Food Group and Wyrebski will jointly build a solid position on the Polish poultry market. The parties will develop a greenfield slaughterhouse in the center of Poland.”
