INDIA, Mumbai. TUV India has completed a project to improve food safety hygiene and product quality in the Indian food processing sector.
The project in cooperation with with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), improved awareness, knowledge and training opportunities in standards and tools for food safety management systems (FSMS). It was part of the develoPPP.de initiative and co-funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The consulting company published handbooks on regulations and FSMS for meat processing, processed foods, bakery and confectionery, spices, snacks and sweets and the generic food processing industry.
TUV India Pvt. was established in 1989 and has 500 employees in more than 25 locations and laboratories across India.
Asha Sridhar, Head – Food Safety Services, TUV India Pvt, said the project started in 2014. He is happy to know that many food industry personnel have really benefited from the training programs and he expects that they will be the future torchbearers to transfer knowledge and impart training to their stakeholders.
