The move and development of its Vienna affiliate is helping Symrise strengthen its presence in Austria and throughout the entire southeastern European market.

The site expansion has allowed the global fragrance and flavourings manufacturer to improve its services to clients in the region and to develop products more closely tailored to the needs of local markets.

New offices and laboratories for the Sales, Category Management, Development and Applications Technology departments have been established on a 1300 sq.m. site in Vienna. Modern, fully equipped sensory analysis facilities also demonstrate the importance placed on consumer research at the Vienna site.

For years now, the Vienna affiliate had played a central role in our company’s expansion into southeastern European markets, said Heiner Schaper, President Flavour & Nutrition Europe, Africa, Middle East, Symrise.

In addition, Vienna is also the home of the Applications Technology department for sweets, snack items and beverages for southeastern Europe. As Toni Weghofer, CEO of Symrise Austria, explained, the new sensory analysis and consumer research facilities allowed the company to develop products for all of these segments that possess a great deal of market relevance.

The new office and development building is located in direct proximity to central Vienna and can be easily reached from the airport. Symrise works closely with the Universities of Economics and of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, which are also located in the immediate area.
