The South Shore Meat Company (Massachusetts) voluntarily recalls an unknown amount of ground beef products.
At least over 20 people from Rhode Island were harmed by their beef products due to the E. coli
bacterium. Some campers came in contact with the pathogen during an excursion. This series of incidents launched the inspection of the meat by the South Shore Meat Company.
Though the reported strain was E. coli
O157:H7, the sicknesses weren't life-threatening. Due to a report by the Associated Press the local authorities are looking into the case. USDA and the State is still searching for all the affected products.
