CRAIGAVON, Northern Ireland. Poultry processor Moy Park, a subsidiary of São Paulo-based JBS SA, plans to spend $8.828 mill. toward upgrades at its facilities in Craigavon.
The company said it will focus on positioning its ready-to-eat cooked chicken production for further innovation and growth. Upgrades to the facility will include installation of advanced continuous in-line cooking and chilling technologies. The company said the upgrades also will provide energy and process efficiencies.
UK-based Moy Park Holdings Europe Ltd. is a leading supplier of fresh and ready-to-eat products in Ireland and England. The company’s customers include major retailers such as Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and others in addition to foodservice customers ranging from McDonald’s to KFC to Burger King and Pizza Hut.
In September 2015, the European Commission approved JBS SA’s acquisition of Moy Park from Marfrig Global Foods SA. The transaction was valued at $1.5 bn.
