Manly to head Smithfield International Operations

Robert W. Manly IV has been assigned responsibility to manage international operations at Smithfield Foods, Inc. Manly, an executive vice president, will direct Smithfield operations in Poland, Romania and the United Kingdom, as well as oversee the company’s Groupe Smithfield joint venture in Europe, joint ventures in Mexico and China and an interest in Campofrío in Spain. In his new role he will be responsible for both hog production and meat processing.

Smithfield Foods’ international sales, excluding joint ventures, are about $1 billion. With sales of $12 billion, Smithfield is the leading processor and marketer of fresh pork and processed meats in the United States, as well as the largest producer of hogs.
