The dioxin crisis attracted increased media attention at the "International Green Week" in Berlin. However, the news did nothing to reduce consumers' desire to part with their money - spending an average of EUR 110 per head at the event.

Of this, roughly EUR 24 went on food and drink - two euros more than in 2010. More than 415,000 attended the world's largest consumer fair for agriculture and food in the German capital, roughly 15,000 visitors more than the previous year. 50 agriculture ministers discussed topical international agricultural policy issues at a meeting chaired by Federal Food Minister Ilse Aigner scheduled at the same time as the fair.
