GERMANY, Potsdam/Berlin. Prof. Dr. Eero Puolanne, University of Finland, Dr. Dagmar Brüggemann, MRI Germany, Hans-Joachim Fuchtel, BMEL Germany and Dr. Fredi Schwägele and Prof. Dr. Pablo Steinberg, both MRI Germany, officially opened the 65th International Congress of Meat Science and Technology 2019 by ringing a cow bell.
Until 9 August, 2019, Potsdam/Berlin is the host for more than 560 attendees from 49 countries.
This year’s congress is themed ‘Meat for Diversifying Markets’. It will deal with various main topics: consumer behaviour, ethics, microbiology, food safety, sustainability, muscle biology, metabolomics, animal welfare, emerging technologies, digitalization and recently emerging topics.
Worldwide, meat and meat products are becoming an intrinsic part of evermore diversifying markets. With this in mind, we need to consider future scenarios concerning potential developments and options in a globalized world.
