Hot Dog and Sausage Council celebrates sausage month

In honour of National Sausage Month in October, the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council has released a brochure entitled “Sausage Recipes from Around the World.”

This publication features sausage in a series of internationally flavoured entrees. From Chorizo Tortilla Pie to Sausage Stuffed Manicotti, these new recipes are thought to surprise consumers, because many of them can be made in less than an hour being perfect for today’s busy families.

Other recipes in the collection include Thai-Style Fried Rice, Paella with Smoked Sausage, New-Fashioned Sausage Cassoulet, Express Jerked Caribbean Dogs and Hot Dogs - Nacho Style.

Also new to the Council’s site is a ”Sausage Fame” section featuring movies, music and television shows that have showcased sausages. The site also features many more great recipes, and all of the facts, figures and photos you need to spice up your very own Sausage Month celebration.

The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council is a project of the American Meat Institute in Washington, DC. Established in 1994, the Council conducts scientific research to benefit hot dog and sausage manufacturers. The Council also serves as an information resource to consumers and media on questions related to quality, safety, nutrition and preparation of hot dogs and sausages.
