Hormel announced advancements, nominated new directors

Hormel Foods Corporation announced two advancements and the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors.

Donald H. Kremin has been promoted to the position of vice president of sales, Wal-Mart for Hormel Foods and Brian D. Johnson to the position of corporate secretary, effective November 1, 2007.

Kremin started with Hormel in 1984 as a sales merchandiser in grocery products and steadily rose through the ranks. Most recently, Kremin was director of the Wal-Mart business team in Bentonville, Ark. Johnson began his Hormel tenure in 1995 as a corporate attorney. Most recently he was assistant secretary.

At the Board of Directors meeting held October 1, Terrell K. Crews, Jody H. Feragen and Ronald D. Pearson were elected as directors. Crews, Feragen and Pearson were nominated to fill the seats created by the retirements of long-time Board members John R. Block, Peter Gillette Jr. and Michael J. McCoy.

Crews is the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Monsanto Co., Feragen is senior vice president and chief financial officer at Hormel, and Pearson is chairman emeritus of Hy-Vee Inc.

Hormel Foods Corporation is a multinational manufacturer and marketer of consumer-branded food and meat products with special expertise in pork and turkey processing.
