Almost 1200 samples from Korea, Japan and Russia have not reached their destination, the International Quality Contest for sausage and ham on the IFFA exhibition centre.

They were confiscated at Frankfurt airport because of the break out of the foot and mouth disease in these countries. After having been shocked initially, the participants composedly accepted the situation.

The manager of the competition, Dr. Wolfgang Lutz and President Manfred Rycken (from Deutscher Fleischer-Verband) were fully involved in crisis management.
