German poultry production rose 2.5% to 1.66 mill. t last year, the German Food and Agriculture Ministry (BMELV) reported.
Output included 1.19 mill. t of chicken, 401,000 t of turkey meat, 63,000 t of duck and 4,500 t of goose.
Imports of poultry rose 26% to 98,300 t and exports increased 5.4% to 312,700 t. National per-capita poultry consumption rose 0.2 kg to 18.9 kg as eating of chicken meat on average climbed 0.4 kg to 11.8 kg.
