GERMANY, Pullach. FreshDetect GmbH, developer and marketer of innovative measurement devices for quality control in the food industry, is making new calibration data sets available for its BFD-100 portable measurement device.
Effectively immediately, chicken breast and the silver side of pork can now be tested, thus expanding the versatility of the BFD-100 beyond minced meat and pork loin. In addition, the company named Dr. Christoph Wienken as a managing director, joining CEO Oliver Dietrich on the executive leadership team.
Slaughter operations, inspectors and labs can all use the BFD-100 along every step of the processing chain to detect the total viable count in meat samples. The advantages lie in the rapid measurements (within seconds), ease of use and the low costs, in addition to measurement accuracy comparable to microbiological tests. The new applications allow the device to be used in additional scenarios, thus enabling tight quality control measurements.
“We’re pleased that the new calibration data sets we announced at the Anuga FoodTec are now available,” explains Oliver Dietrich, CEO of FreshDetect GmbH. “We are thus fulfilling our promise to develop and offer innovative and practical quality control testing for food products. At the same time we have expanded the executive leadership team with the addition of CTO Christoph Wienken to give the company even more clout.”
Dr. Christoph Wienken joined FreshDetect in October 2017 and will remain responsible for the strategic development of the FreshDetect technologies. He will also continue to be responsible for product management. In his new position as co-managing director, he will help Oliver Dietrich in leading the company.
