GERMANY, Buchloe. Vion cooperates with the Danish automation specialist Frontmatec for the automatic recording and evaluation of cattle carcasses. The system is already in a successful test phase at the Vion site in Crailsheim.
At this year's IFFA, the leading international trade fair for the meat industry in Frankfurt am Main, the innovative recording and evaluation procedure will be presented for the first time and both partners officially announce their cooperation.
In comparison to the methods previously used, the BCC-3 from Frontmatec automatically generates a 3-D image of the cattle halves using state-of-the-art digital analysis methods. "We see in this technology new possibilities in the sorting and thus in the optimal utilization of the beef cuts in the cutting", says Bernd Stange, COO Beef at Vion.
