Compaign to promote environmental credentials

Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) will launch its biggest campaign yet as part of its efforts to promote the environmental credentials of the livestock industry.

Tactically coinciding with World Environment Day on 5 June, MLA will undertake a nation-wide communications campaign that includes newspaper and online advertising.

At a time when community focus on the red meat industry’s perceived impact on the environment is high, MLA Chairman Don Heatley said the latest advertising campaign was designed to promote the significant environmental achievements of livestock producers to those living in metropolitan areas.

Heatley said the aim of the campaign is to provide real examples of the environmentally-focused work undertaken every day by Australia’s livestock producers such as tree-planting, protection of riparian zones and the preserving of areas of important biodiversity such as native wildlife habitat.
