The Canadian government has announced C$1.5 million in funding to boost exports of Canadian beef products.

The European Market Survey and UK Meat & Livestock Commission have reported this.

The Canada Beef Export Federation (CBEF), which represents 90% of Canada’s beef and veal processing capacity, will look to expand trade opportunities across Asia and in Mexico.

In particular the CBEF aims to grow exports to become the third largest supplier of imported beef to these markets by 2015.

CBEF will work with locally engaged market experts and all sectors of the beef industry, including producers, packers and processors.
