Canadian FIA expands health hazard alert

The CFIA and Delstar Foods Inc. are warning the public not to consume the sliced ready-to-eat deli meats described below because these products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Specific sliced ready-to-eat deli meats bearing establishment number 308 and a best before date between 09AU26 (August 26, 2009) and 09OC01 (October 1, 2009), inclusive, are affected by this alert. The recalled products include smoked beef round, various types of pastrami, salami, pepperoni and corned beef sold under the “Delstar” and “Compliments” brand names.

The affected products have been distributed in Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon and the Northwest Territories. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
