American Meat Institute (AMI) President J. Patrick Boyle announced a number of staff changes. They are aimed to enable the Institute to continue to effectively serve the needs of the meat and poultry industry.
In the Department of Legislative Affairs, AMI Director of Legislative Affairs Dale Nellor will become vice president of legislative affairs. Matthew Mika was named director of legislative affairs.
AMI Executive Vice President James Hodges was named interim president of the AMI Foundation, following the Jan. 5 departure of Randy Huffman to join Maple Leaf Foods as its chief food safety officer.
In the AMI Foundation, Dr. Betsy Booren was named director of scientific affairs. Booren recently completed her Ph.D. in food science from Texas A&M University (TAMU). Dr. Andrew Milkowski, adjunct professor, Department of Animal Sciences, University of Wisconsin and former Kraft Foods fellow, has been retained to provide technical services for the Institute. Milkowski will focus on diet and health issues.
In the AMI Convention Services Department, Senior Manager of Convention and Member Services Heather Schoch was promoted to director of convention and exposition services.
