During the same period, the production value for meat substitutes rose by 36% from just under € 62.4 mill. to € 85.1 mill. In the whole of 2019, the production of meat substitutes reached a value of € 272.8 mill. This sum is relatively low compared to meat production. The production value of the categories meat, poultry meat and processed meat in 2019 totalled € 40.1 bn.
