AMSA presented AMI President with special recognition award

The American Meat Science Association (AMSA) presented AMI President and CEO J. Patrick Boyle with its Special Recognition Award at the 62nd Annual Reciprocal Meat Conference, held in Rogers, Arkansas.
The award was established to honour individuals for truly significant, exceptional and lasting service to either the AMSA or the meat industry.

Steve Campano, executive vice president of Trumark, a division of Hawkins, Inc., who also served as AMSA president, explained that the award is not an annual award, but rather is presented for exceptional service as recognised and endorsed by the AMSA board of directors.

Campano noted that Boyle has spent more than two decades at the helm of AMI where he has campaigned tirelessly for improved food safety, employee rights, immigration issues, nutrition and health concerns, animal welfare, meat imports and exports and other regulatory and legislative issues.

Additionally, Boyle serves with the Secretary of Agriculture and the U.S. Trade Representative on the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee and is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Committee of 100, Campano noted.
