World Meat Congress in Beijing

In a leadership colloquium at the 20th World Meat Congress of the International Meat Secretariat (IMS), high profile members of the meat industry discussed their groups’ part in supplying an ever growing world population with animal protein.

It is understood that until 2050 the world population will exceed 9 bn. people to be fed. In order to tackle this challenge everybody agreed that it is important to considerably improve food security, food safety and production sustainability.

This task demands intensive collaboration and communication between all parties.

Participants in the discussion were from left to right: Mick Sloyan (CEO BPEX), Wan Long (CEO Shuanghui Group), Jeremiah O’Callaghan (Investment Relations Director JBS), Kjeld Johannesen (CEO Danish Crown), Roel Andriessen (Senior Vice President Tyson Foods) and Zhu Xianfu (President Henan Zhongpin Food Share Co., Ltd.).
