The Teeuwissen Group and the Van Hessen Group have successfully closed the transaction to start the integration of their companies, following the approval by the merger control authorities.

The new Saria division, which will operate under the Van Hessen name, will bundle the complementary activities of both companies in the natural casings business creating a fully integrated worldwide value chain.

Harald van Boxtel, CEO of the Teeuwissen Group and Elliot Simon, so far CEO of the Van Hessen Group, will form the Management Team of the new Van Hessen. Harald van Boxtel will take the position of CEO, Chief Executive Officer and Elliot Simon of CCO, Chief Commercial Officer.

The head office of the new division will be in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel (the Netherlands). Now the transaction has been closed, the process to integrate the two companies and develop the new organization will start.

The Saria Group, headquartered in Selm (Germany) is an international manufacturer of quality goods for human consumption, animal nutrition, agriculture, the pharmaceutical industry and industrial applications. The company is also active in renewable energies and is a significant provider of services to the agriculture and food industries. It employs around 8,500 people at 185 locations across 20 countries.

The Teeuwissen Group, headquartered in Cuijk (the Netherlands) is an international player that specializes in gutroom management and in purchasing and processing natural casings. The company is a renowned supplier of quality products to the pharmaceutical industry and the food and pet food industries. The Teeuwissen Group has been part of the Saria Group since 2010.

Established as a family-owned company in 1902, the Van Hessen Group, which is headquartered in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel (the Netherlands), has grown into a globally leading company in the natural casings trade. The company has offices and factories in 13 countries. It is also active as a processor of animal by-products and supplies high-quality raw materials to the pharmaceutical industry.
